Saturday, 8th of February was an exciting day for all of us at Direct Wholesale Kitchens as the eagerly anticipated draw for the €10,000 kitchen in support of Emily Harte took place.
Saturday was a busy day for most with the General election voting stations open throughout the day as well as the Irish rugby team getting a huge win in the six nations in overcoming close neighbours Wales with a great victory. As was it a busy day for us all involved at DWK where we kicked off our draw broadcasted live from our showroom by Midlands 103 and overseen by celebrity chef Kevin Dundon. The five Finalists were contacted Wednesday 5th to be informed that they had been selected to be present on the day where they had the chance to win the overall prize as well as spectate Kevin Dundon put his cookery skills on show.
Shortly after 2pm, the time came for the draw to take place, with the five finalists itching to find out who had won the main prize. We are pleased to formally announce that local woman Phyllis Hurst had all the luck on the day and came away with the huge win of the €10,000 kitchen. It wasn’t all doom and gloom though as no one walked away empty handed with a host of great prizes all being won respectively by the remaining four finalists.
After the main draw had concluded and when everyone had settled, Kevin began to demonstrate his renowned cooking skills in creating some beautiful dishes which melted the hearts of everyone in the audience. The cookery demo after the draw brought to an end a great day for everyone who visited and we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported this great cause in helping to raise funds for Emily Harte and her family. We are very fortunate to be in this position to give away this great prize in raising funds for Emily but it would not be possible without the support of everyone who contributed, as well as local organisations and everyone who have fundraised and contributed over the past few months. It is a great little community we have.
